China requires 12 years of basic education for degree entry. Since SPM is 11 years, the 1-year Foundation course acts as the bridge.
It includes intensive Chinese (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing), Mathematics, and major-specific basics like Physics or Economics.
Generally no. Passing your foundation exams allows you to promote directly into the university's bachelor's program.
